(610 Sports) When the Chiefs and their fans celebrated the team's Super Bowl championship with a parade and rally at Union Station in February, star defensive lineman Chris Jones didn't have the opportunity to address the fans.

He did get that chance Monday, when he joined the Cody & Gold Show after holding a virtual press conference to address his four-year contract extension that he agreed to last week. Jones will earn $60 million guaranteed, and the deal could be worth up to $80 million -- but his focus remains on winning.

After thanking the Chiefs' fans, Jones reminded Kansas City that they're striving for more than one championship.

"This is only the beginning," Jones said on the Cody & Gold Show. "We plan to have another parade and another parade and another parade. We're going to make sure we bring not one, not two, not three, not four, but five-plus rings to Kansas City. It's been 50 years of waiting, but the wait is over now. It's time to create a dynasty."

The 26-year-old Jones will get the opportunity to see through part of that prediction after reaching his extension, which followed a historic deal for Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who earlier in July signed a 10-year extension that could be worth up to $503 million.

Jones has recorded 24.5 sacks in 29 games across the last two seasons and earned Pro Bowl honors in 2019. The Chiefs are set to open the regular season by hosting the Texans at Arrowhead Stadium on Sept. 10.
