Make Some Moves

Raheem Mostert  - Matt Breida appears to be forever injured. But this time it seems like it could be serious enough to be legitimately concerning. Alfred Morris is still getting some reps but doing absolutely nothing with them. He should be dropped just out of principle. Mostert lead the Niners in snaps, touches, and total yards. He’s also got a nice matchup this week with the Cardinals who are the worst rush defense in the NFL right now.

Kenjon Barner – Sony Michel is supposedly week to week with a knee injury. James White is the pass catching back in a high volume offense. Barner is worth an add this week because he’s going to get the carries. The Patriots think these guys are interchangeable and they’ve done a lot over the years to make you think that’s true. Especially facing the Bills this week. If the Pats get up big early we could see a lot of Barner carries. If you’re RB desperate he should be your top add.

Jalen Richard – Richard is the Raiders pass catching back and he’s been quiet in that role because the Raiders just don’t use him a lot. Gruden wants to ground and pound. That being said trading Amari Cooper could really open the door for Richard to be more active in Oakland’s passing game. I don’t believe he’s a guy who will contribute and help right away but he’s a stash with upside.

Doug Martin – Gruden did however say that he thinks Martin can be a workhorse back. Which Tampa believed he could be his first 6 years in the league. The problem is he was never all that healthy. I don’t have much faith in Martin but if we can take anything from what Gruden did with Lynch it’s that Martin should get plenty of work. I’m not excited about adding him but I will if I’m desperate at RB.

Ronald Jones – If you aren’t quite that desperate I am intrigued by Ronald Jones as a stash. Peyton Barber just isn’t a very good player. The Bucs defense can’t stop anyone so every game is a potential shoot out. There is something there that makes this Tampa coaching staff have little faith in Jones which is obviously a red flag. But they spent the draft capital on him and I would have to imagine they desperately want to get him involved if he can slow the game down a bit for them. I’m adding him in a multiple deep leagues as a stash guy.

Tre’Quan Smith –  He looks like he’s the number two WR in New Orleans with no Ted Ginn and he will thus carry significant value. Cam Meredith was thought to be the guy after Ginn went down but he didn’t see a single target in the last game. Smith didn’t do much either but he’s clearly got the attention of Drew Brees which means good things in the future.

Danny Amendola – Danny Amendola actually has value again with Brock Osweiler as his starting QB for the near future. With Osweiler he’s caught 14 of 18 targets for 143 yards and a touch. Add in deep leagues for the desperate. Nothing I’m banking on but he should definitely be on a roster.

Tyrell Williams – He should be on everyones roster as much as it hurts me to say. I’ve got a lot of stock in the other Williams on the team. But realistically Phil has been great so far this season with at least 2 TD’s in every game. He’s slinging it deep and it might be a trade off week to week who gets those deep looks but for the last two it’s been Tyrell. Mike did have a 55 yard TD but that was his only grab of the game. They both seem boom or bust but the boom potential is real.
