Whenever labor issues arise in professional sports, the tendency of fans is to side with ownership. Siding with the billionaires over the millionaires has always puzzled us. The reasons why many fans side with 'the man' are wide-ranging, but the acceptance of those reasons is difficult for Show and Vern.

  • That athletes didn't work as hard for their money as owners
  • That owners are more a fabric of the city than the players
  • That a million dollars and a billion dollars are equally unreachable for fans
  • The thought that greed is the deciding factor for players to strike
  • The thought that the athletes are playing a kid's game and shouldn't worry about money
