One Chiefs Move Each Side of the Ball

Fescoe in the Morning Debates

The Chiefs offseason has begun so if you had to make one "must" move on each side of the ball what would it be?   Fescoe in the Morning has their picks.

Kling - Offense:   I've said on the air the offense is pretty nicely set up for next year so I'm not in line for many big changes, but color me surprised.  I would not have said this before last season.  Re-sign Albert Wilson.   What a nice season he had.   Maybe having a career best in catches, yards and TDs will price him out of KC to someone that would over pay him, I'd try to find him a satisfying three year deal.

Productive secondary receiver, good dude in the community.  Bring back Albert Wilson.

Defense:  Draft a pass rusher with your first pick.   I'm looking the DE who projects as an OLB type, isn't that always the way?   The Chiefs first pick at this point isn't until the late 2nd round so it makes little sense for me to make up a name of who it should be.  But I am going for position of need and the highest rated pass rusher on the board when you pick is my pick for the Chiefs.

Fescoe - Offense:  The goal moving forward is to make Pat Mahomes successful as a quarterback.  The only way you can do that is with legit weapons.  Mahomes and the Chiefs offense are off to a great start.  However, they need to get better.  As much as Clark Hunt stressed depth on defense, they need it on offense as well.  Tyreek Hill has shown he can be a true number 1 wide receiver but they need a compliment on the other side.  If that is re-signing Albert Wilson as Josh mentioned above or if that is going into the free agent market to sign a guy, the #2 wide receiver position needs and upgrade and so does wide receiver depth.  Depth at tight end was a big reason why KC lost the playoff game to the Titans back in January.

Defense:  They need to find someone who will replace Derrick Johnson's ten tackles per game.  Reggie Ragland is a nice player but now who plays along side of him?  For years we tried to find the right compliment to DJ and we found him in Ragland.  However, now we need to find the compliment to Ragland.  At times I think folks took DJ for granted.  He's gone now so who is going to replace those takles on Sunday?
