KU Makes Athletic Director Change

Sheahon Zenger Relieved of Duties

Kansas Chancellor Dr. Douglas Girod has made a change at the top of KU athletics, firing athletic director Sheahon Zenger.

Zenger became the athletic director at KU in 2011.  His prominent staff hires have come in football with Head Coaches Charlie Weis and David Beaty, but the program has not been able to gain much traction, going a combined 9-55. The team has gone Zenger is credited with helping to bring several athletic department facilities to fruition including Rock Chalk Park, which hosts KU track and field, tennis, soccer and softball.   The school is also in the midst of a $350 million fundraising campaign centered around football.
