It's a 3rd rounder and Kendall Fuller to the Chiefs

According to Terez Paylor the Chiefs have traded QB Alex Smith to the Washington Redskins.  This cannot go into effect until the first day of the league year March 14th.  This deal saves the Chiefs about 17 million.  The Chiefs will get a 3rd round pick and corner Kendall Fuller in return.

Here are some more details on the massive contract Alex Smith got by the Washington Redskins from Ian Rapoport who joined the Day Shift weekly this season:

Cornerback Kendall Fuller is the player going to the ChiefsFuller was a former 3rd round pick in the 2016 draft.  He rated extremely high this year by Pro Football Focus:

The Patrick Mahomes era has officially begun. This deal will be made official on March 14th the first day of the league year.
