Texas got on the board first with a 22 yard touchdown pass from Shane Buechele to Daniel Young. Then on their next drive it was true freshman Sam Ehlinger in at QB who hit John Burt for a 7 yard touchdown pass putting the Longhorns up 14-0.

The Tigers could not move the ball in the first quarter but things changed in the second when Ish Witter scored on a 4 yard run narrowing the gap to 14-7. Of note tight ends coach Joe Jon Finley was calling plays for the Mizzou offense as they lost offensive coordinator Josh Heupel who left to be the head coach of Central Florida.

Things would not go so well for Witter as he would fumble on the Tigers next possession and Texas linebacker Anthony Wheeler scooped it up and went in for a 38 yard score making the game 21-7 Texas. That would be the score at halftime.

On the first play in the second half Drew Lock connected with Jonathan Johnson for a 79 yard score.  The 2 point conversion failed and it was 21-13 Texas.

That play would be the final Mizzou TD on the evening as they would add a field goal.  Texas would add a safety a field goal and a touchdown by Armanti Foreman on an 18 yard run and Texas wins the Texas Bowl 33-16.

The MVP of the Texas Bowl was Texas punter Michael Dickson.

So what is the latest on Drew Lock.  Still unclear but this was said leading up to the Texas Bowl:-
