Well there it is folks the first win of the new season and how sweet it was.  The Chiefs rolled out to Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon and came home with a convincing 38-28 win over the Chargers in a game that was NEVER in doubt.  So what do we take away from the opener?  Well, I am glad you asked.  Let's get the party started!

1.  Tyreek Hill is amazing.  He started the game off with a touchdown on the first punt of the game, delaying our chance to see Pat Mahomes until later in the first quarter, but that was OK.  Hill put his stamp on this game right from the jump and continued to pile on.  All told he finished with 3 touchdowns and 268 total yards.  Not a bad Week 1 performance.

2.  Pat Mahomes looked like a veteran.  Never once did I feel that Mahomes was only playing in his second NFL game.  He looked poised, polished and like a veteran.  He had control of the offense and made a few throws that had many fans saying "WOW!"  What we saw on Sunday was just a taste of what's to come from #15.

3.  Andy Reid was good.  9 different players touched the ball on the offensive side for Reid and the Chiefs.  He wasn't too predictable and just when you thought you knew what was going to happen, they would throw a pass to Anthony Sherman.  I think Reid did a GREAT job of mixing it up, getting many players involved and showing just how hard it is to beat him when he has time to prepare for an opponent.

4.  Dee Ford was a beast.  He had 4 tackles, one for a loss, one sack and hit the QB 4 other times.  He showed speed, he showed an energy we haven't seen before.  He played like a guy playing for his NFL career and this year he is.  I loved watching Ford on Sunday.

5.  The Chiefs were scary and they were limited.  If I told you before the game that Sammy Watkins and Travis Kelce would combine for 4 catches and 27 yards and Zero TD's you would have said the Chiefs would lose.  The Chiefs have so many different weapons to use each week its ok if one of their big guys has a slow night.  This is going to be great down the line.  When the opposition tries to eliminate a weapon there is someone else that can beat ya!

Week 2 against Pittsburgh can't come soon enough.  The Steelers are coming off a tie to the Browns and who knows if they will have Bell next week in the backfield.  I loved what I saw out of our towns team on Sunday.  Lets keep this train rolling!
